Sandwich Bread- Easy

Bread- when I eat Bread I am reminded of  this verse, when Jesus fed  5000 with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish

Matthew 14:13-21

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups of bread Flour
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp yeast (Bread machine)
14 oz cool water

Method
In a large bowl, mix up all the ingredients til it form a a sticky mess. Cover with a plastic wrap and proof it for 8-12 hours. In the winter months, I proof mine in an oven with the light turn on.

After 8-12 hours, place dough on a floured surface and shape into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan (olive oil/butter/oil- your choice) and cover with a cloth and let it sit for 1 1/2 hours.

Pre-heat oven to 400F and bake bread for 45 minutes. Serve.

Now, there are many ways that we have our bread but on New Years Eve, we usually slice it, top it with butter, mayo, shredded cheese, Jalapenos, Salami (or meat of your choice) and simply bake it in the oven. Lets face it, when it gets colder out, we tend to prefer eating hot sandwiches and for us, we do love our cheese!

It is quick, easy and yet, delicious.

Have a Happy New Year 2017 everyone!

Ciabatta Rolls

It doesn't take much to keep me happy! Baking bread for my family is just as fun and satisfying! Today I made Ciabatta rolls so we can have Tuna Sandwich for lunch! This particular bread has always been my favourite but the amount of time and effort to make it was always a put off for me. Then I discovered a No Knead bread recipe and life is great!

Ingredients

3 cups of bread Flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp yeast
12 oz of  water

Mix in the first 3 ingredients in a bowl and then add water. Mix till it all comes together in a sticky mess. Cover with a plastic wrap and let nature takes it'  course for 8-24 hours.

Next, add some flour to your work surface and remove dough from the bowl. Using your stainless steel scrapper, scrap  the dough into a ball. The flour from the surface will help make it less sticky.

Then cut the dough into 3 parts. Shape each part into a *ball* and divide into 2. Shape them and place on a baking sheet.  Pre heat oven at 450F.

Hot Ciabatta Rolls
Proof the rolls for another hour and  30 minutes or until it rises double it's size. Then bake it for 15 mins at  450 F.

Enjoy!

Home Made Pizza

It has been a while since I posted on this site. A lot has happened and my 2 year old is now in first Grade. Since the last blog, I have picked up baking home made bread and pizza. Today I made some pizza for my family.

It is one of my favourites and I figured, why not. How do you make the dough? Recipe as follows :

For the Crust

4 cups of Bread Flour
1 1/2 cups of warm water
2 1/4 teaspoon of salt ( or to your taste but this works for us)
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 tsp of Yeast
1/3 EVO

 For the Toppings

8 ounces of Mozzarella Cheese
1/2 cup of Parmesan
Oilive oil to drizzle
Ham, Pineapple and mushroom

I bake this at 500 F for 10 mins or until you see the cheese start to bubble up.

With bell peppers, onions and mushrooms.

Enjoy!
