Bread- when I eat Bread I am reminded of this verse, when Jesus fed 5000 with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishMatthew 14:13-21 |
3 1/2 cups of bread Flour
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp yeast (Bread machine)
14 oz cool water
Method
In a large bowl, mix up all the ingredients til it form a a sticky mess. Cover with a plastic wrap and proof it for 8-12 hours. In the winter months, I proof mine in an oven with the light turn on.
After 8-12 hours, place dough on a floured surface and shape into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan (olive oil/butter/oil- your choice) and cover with a cloth and let it sit for 1 1/2 hours.
Pre-heat oven to 400F and bake bread for 45 minutes. Serve.
Now, there are many ways that we have our bread but on New Years Eve, we usually slice it, top it with butter, mayo, shredded cheese, Jalapenos, Salami (or meat of your choice) and simply bake it in the oven. Lets face it, when it gets colder out, we tend to prefer eating hot sandwiches and for us, we do love our cheese!
It is quick, easy and yet, delicious.
Have a Happy New Year 2017 everyone!
